The comment section is gold, the selection interesting to understand where that music is at right now. Of course, you will want to download or buy XLR8R’s latest edition to get a bit deeper in the genre. A few days after posting the mix, XLR8R posted a new song by Dj Gant Man, god father of the style.

Mystik 703 – PEP LA FACHE /rap Haiti

«On va te tomber dessus», appelle Mystik 703 dans sa toute nouvelle chanson Pèp la fache («Le peuple est fâché»). Un éclat de rage contre les gens au pouvoir en Haïti. Les trois membres du célèbre groupe y déclinent plusieurs expressions et slogans inspirées de la révolte populaire, du type «Eleksyon kap mete gwo volè» («C’est par les élections qu’on met les gros voleurs au pouvoir»). Le vidéo est réalisé par Réginald Georges, le grand manitou du vidéoclip en Haïti.

“We will take you down”, shouts Mystik 703 in their brand new song Pèp la fache (“The people are angry”). A bomb of rage against the elite in power in Haiti. The three members of this group shout current slogans of revolt like “Eleksyon kap mete gwo volè” (“Elections put thieves in power”). The video was directed by Reginald George, music videos’ head honcho in this country.

Haïti est belle

Le rappeur montréalais Obia le Chef est passé ici, en Haïti, pour tourner début août son nouveau vidéoclip «Le monde t’appartient», qu’il a lui-même monté et réalisé. Avec le savoir-faire de sa famille et d’amis très impliqués dans le cinéma haïtien, il a filmé certaines des plus belles images du pays qu’on a pu voir cette année. Ce clip a été tourné entre autres au Champ de mars de Port-au-Prince et sur la place publique et la rue Isaac Pardo de Jacmel.

Quoi qu’on en dise, malgré les problèmes que le pays connait, Haïti est belle. Et ces images le prouvent.

Nouvel Horaire de Masala Radio

Pour la saison d’automne de CISM, Masala change de position dans la grille horraire et de forme.

L’émission sera dorénavant diffusée le vendredi soir de 21:00 à 23:00 (Heure de l’est) et toujours en rediffusion le dimanche pour une version écourtée 14:30 à 16:00 à compter de ce vendredi 10 septembre.

Aussi, l’émission prendra une structure un peu différente.

C’est donc un Rendez-vous avec Uproot Andy ce Vendredi sur le 89.3 FM!
