Il n’y a pas mieux que la joie un peu triste de la musique haitïenne pour évoquer le chemin à prendre vers la reconstruction après le drame terrible qui a eu lieu hier à Port-Au-Prince, Haïti. Pour ceux qui n’iront pas aider directement sur place, il y a peu de choses à faire, à part donner un peu d’argent à des organismes reconnus, susceptibles d’en tirer le meilleur. C’est pourquoi, à MASALA, on vous dirige vers le site de la Croix Rouge Canadienne et on envoie, à notre manière, nos pensées et notre fraternité aux gens de la perle des Antilles.

There’s no better way than the joyful (yet a bit sad) music of Haiti to suggest the path that leads to reconstruction after the terrible events that happened yesterday in Port-Au-Prince. For those who won’t go there to help, there’s only a few options left, one of them being to give money to recognized NGOs that will use it in the best manner. This is why, at MASALA, we suggest that you donate to your local Red Cross organization and we also send our thoughts and fraternity to the people of ‘La Perle des Antilles’ by sharing some of their music with you.

2010 vient tout juste de commencer et cela signifie que nous sommes qu’à 1 mois de la saison des carnavals!

Poirier nous a envoyé sa version du fameux Gutter Riddim qui, encore une fois cette année, va faire bouncer plusieurs chars à travers les caraibes.

Voici donc un généreux cadeau de sa part avec les refixes de son précédent ep Soca Sound System le temps d’attendre son prochain album double Running High qui devrait sortir en ce début d’année.

Poirier feat. Nik Myo – Mangnen L’boulé (Riddim Wise Remix)

Our good friends at Riddim Wise sent us this beautiful reggae/dubstep remix of Poirier‘s haunted and haunting kreyol song with Nik Myo off his 2007 album No Ground Under. Riddim Wise is one of the most listened reggae radio show in Montreal if not the most listened to. It’s broadcasted just after the second broadcast of Masala on sunday afternoon on CISM (the name of the radio station hence our blog name). Nos bons amis de Riddim Wise nous ont envoyé ce magnifique remix reggae/dubstep de Mangnen L’boulé de Poirier. Un morceau hanté et hantant, chanté en Creole par Nik Myo, tiré de l’album No Ground Under sorti sur Ninja Tune en 2007. Riddim Wise est l’une des émissions de radio dédiée au reggae la plus écoutée au Québec, si ce n’est la plus écoutée. L’émission est diffusée juste après la rediffusion de Masala les dimanche après-midi de 16h à 18h, sur les ondes de CISM (c’est le nom de la radio, d’où le nom de notre blog).
