Bonjay – Gimmee Gimee EP

Bonjay took their sweet time but they are finally putting something out officially. I’ve been following them and supporting them for a bit more than a couple years now, after I first encountered Alanna while playing a gig in Ottawa. These guys have clearly a unique sound blending elements that are never blend together: Dancehall and electronic music being the basis from which they work with, on top of they add their influence of Soul R’n'B music as well as indie-rock/indie-pop songwriting.

They released the Gimmee Gimmee EP a few weeks ago and already got support from the like of FADER, XLR8R, Dazed and Confused so you can bet it’s only the beginning for them. 4 of the 6 tracks have been floating around the internet already so I’ll let you go here if you want, but here’s some of the tracks for your pleasure.
