Masala To Go #7: Bateria Com Funk

Pour faire suite à mon post de la semaine dernière, j’ai enregistré un mix assez intense de 10 min avec 7 morceaux qui présente ce son qui envahit les baile à Rio et qui mélange le funk aux rythmiques bahianaises de Macumbinha ou aux rythmes Sambas. Le dernier morceau mélange même le Funk Carioca avec du Forro! Cette proximité entre le tamborzao et ces rythmes du Nordeste s’explique relativement facilement par la sociologie des favelas carioca. En effet, une grande partie des habitants des favelas sont originaires du Pernambuco et des autres régions du Nord-Est du Brésil.

To continue last week post, I recorded a 10 minute mix with 7 tracks which presents the sound that is taking over Bailes in Rio mixing funk with Bahianese rhythms of Macumbinha or with Samba rhythms. The last track of the mix is even mixing Funk Carioca with Forro! This proximity between the tamborzao and this rhythms from the Nordeste can be quite easily explained by the sociology of Cariocas Favelas inhabitants. A large part of the population of favelas in Rio are from Pernambuco and other areas from Brazil north-east.
