The three biggest songs in Trini right now. I heard them like 15 times a day when I was there, especially the “Cold Sweat”, the wining song of 2K7!

Denise Belfon – “Bicycle Wine”

The new dance of 2K7 in Trini. I saw her twice doing it on stage, very impressive! Imagine a fattie who simulates riding a bicycle while wining her ass real hard…

Kimberley – “My Hips”

I heard this song for the first time in a maxi taxi on our first day in Tobago. It was a perfect day, south coast was amazing and I liked the song. But now, with -30 and cold snow, i’m not sure…

Peter Ram ft. Bunji Garlin – “Passa Passa”
Peter Ram ft. Vybz Kartel – “Woman by my side (rmx)”

I think Peter Ram is from Barbados. The “Woman by my side” song was playing a lot in Trini but I prefer the remix with Kartel from far. And for the “Passa Passa”, he went at the Fire Fete to do it with Bunji but at this time we were knocked out after 6 hour of wining lesson.

Dr.Evil – “Wine it”

Two funny songs. Fireball is getting big but he can’t sing the song live. Dr.Evil is takin’ over soca on this one but the big song while I was there was his “Batty Boy” mash up with Chamillionaire “Ridin’ Dirty”.

Iwer George – “Fete after Fete”

I think that says it all. One of my favorite 2K7 chunes.

? – “If I ketch yuh”

Don’t know who sings this song. I picked it on a chutney 2006 compilation I buy in Chaguanas. Didn’t have time to dig much on chutney but I got a crazy ride with an ex-Queen’s hindu taxi driver

We got some great feedback here and there for the previous post so I decided to post some more of this fine dancehall tunes from France. This are tracks I selected from the cds I brought back and some older compilation I downloaded. All prods are from 2005/2006, certified underground, you can’t download that shit anywhere else!

Rest In Peace Disco D

La nouvelle est tombée il y a quelques heures et vu le personnage j’ai tout d’abord cru à un coup marketing, mais pour l’instant ça à l’air de se confirmer. Disco D un futur très grand (déjà grand) de la production de musique booty de toute sorte, s’est suicidé ce matin suite, dit-on, à la demande de divorce de sa femme brésilienne, qu’il n’aurait pas supporté, cela s’ajoutant à une maladie mentale ne façilitant pas les choses. Je posterai les quelques tracks que j’ai de ce gars qui m’a bien fait trippé il y a quelque mois avec le morceau Cabana.

Back in Montrilllll!

Les cinqs jours à Tobago étaient vraiment cool. Je recommande fortement le village de pêcheurs de Charlottesville avec sa superbe Pirate’s Bay, et si vous y allez, demandez à habiter chez Patsy Christmas. Elle fait des supers bons desserts aux peanuts et des friandises à la mangue hallucinantes. Et si vous avez le goût de “limer”, prenez une bonne Malta avec Stritley, il a des bonnes histoires à raconter sur le village. Il les raconte 6 fois de suite mais on dirait qu’elles sont nouvelles à chaque fois

Je suis de retour à Montréal avec une indigestion de soca mais j’ai de l’eau des sources de ZamZam pour me purifier… L’émission sur CISM reprend samedi avec du son frais et surveillez le prochain Baile MTL qui aura lieu le samedi 3 février au Zoo. Il y a aussi des updates sur CKOI urbain.
